We have separate bank accounts for everything else, and have a budget of $600\/mo each for our own discretionary spending. I feel like that&#039;s quite a bit, but he&#039;s consistently using our joint card for personal purchases (about $200 &#8211; $400 every month). Mostly for weed, cigars and alcohol.<\/p>\n<p>I feel like I&#039;m already subsidizing his expenses because our car usage is 80% his trips and eating out is often just for him as well. He hasn&#039;t saved anything for retirement, and has $1,000 of debt that he hasn&#039;t made a dent in for over 6 months because he doesn&#039;t have enough to pay it down.
