Last August, a $2000 pre-authorized debit from \u201cCRA\u201d was taken from my bank account. I had no taxes owing, and this transaction didn\u2019t show up in my CRA account portal, so I initially thought it was fraud. <\/p>\n
I contacted my bank, and they told me that the debit HAD come from the CRA, and that it referenced a payee name that was not mine. (They would not tell me the name of the payee.) <\/p>\n
I called CRA, which of course had no record of a transaction on my file. They have repeatedly asked for more documentation of this transaction from my bank, the latest of which I provided to them 6 weeks ago. <\/p>\n
Still waiting. <\/p>\n
Has anyone else had this happen? This seems like something that should be easily worked out between the CRA and my bank, without my involvement. It\u2019s also concerning that this may have happened to others. <\/p>\n
I now have little faith in the CRA\u2019s ability to record and trace transactions, and I\u2019m afraid that they\u2019ll eventually tell me that they have no record of this transaction and I\u2019ll be out $2000 with no recourse.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
