Why is internet in Canada, or maybe just Ontario, SO expensive? <\/p>\n
Canadians currently have the world second most expensive internet, yet the price does not at ALL justify what youre getting, especially when compared to other countries like the US, UK, etc. <\/p>\n
I\u2019ve heard so many of my online friends saying their speeds range from 80-100 Megabytes per second. Yes, Megabytes, not Megabits. <\/p>\n
I recently learned that theres a huge difference when companies put on their site that you\u2019ll be paying for \u201c50MBps\u201d. <\/p>\n
It doesn\u2019t mean that when you test your internet speed you\u2019ll be seeing upwards to 50 Megabytes. MBps actually means Megabits per second, instead of Megabytes. Its so shady. <\/p>\n
When you convert 50MBps to Megabytes, you get 6MB download speeds which is horrible if you have a family of 3 or more.<\/p>\n
It feels like prices for so many things in Canada are just ballooning more and more without any justification or \u201cupgrade\u201d to the services or goods provided.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
