I'll keep the question quick:<\/p>\n
I've been investing into the same RRSP\/RESPs with TD Bank for years. Each one has a couple of TD Mutual funds that are in the "balanced growth" category. Nothing out of the ordinary.<\/p>\n
Now for ages I've been getting and ignoring emails after every purchase about "please come meet our advisors to reasses your comfort levels with risk, etc". I had to do this once years ago so they would have a profile of my investing tolerance and goals.<\/p>\n
Well now they have BLOCKED my contributions until I meet with an advisor. I called to setup an appointment and it really sounds like they want to see me on more financial services. I already have Life Insurance through TD.<\/p>\n
So – is this just a common way to sell me on more services or is there actually some benefit to me? I don't want to walk into the branch with a chip on my shoulder, but being blocked from purchasing more of the same mutual funds I've been buying for years rubbed me the wrong way.<\/p>\n
