My parents are retired with no savings but own a duplex worth $950k. what should there smart move be?
So my parents are both at retirement now. They unfortunately did not save money for retirement. They do own a home however that is worth $950k and only have $15,000 left on the mortgage.
Their are duplexes that sell for $600k only 20 minutes away from where they live now but the income from the other duplex would be $400 less a month. Should they sell there home and buy a cheaper duplex to survive retirement ? What's the best thing they can do right now that would keep them secure in the future?
